The Late Spring Scene In The Berkshires

We have been up in The Berkshires for the last few weeks getting ready to open Warm Welcome Stays 2 (!!!) and have been enjoying the quiet cusp season. When we first started getting to know The Berkshires, we visited in late April, when it’s probably the most quiet time of year and we couldn’t have imagined how bumping it would get around here in the summer months.

When we returned to great Barrington for the summer, we arrived just a few days before the 4th of July, when the season is really kicked into high gear. Then, we heard how busy it is in the winter and with Butternut Mountain as our backyard, we were looking forward to the ski season, and naively, thought it would be easier to get a table at The Prairie Whale. Little did we know when we came back in January, it would be just as energized!

Now, we’re back in spring and have been taking in the quiet, but we’ll be honest, we’re ready for the events to start again - and they will! This weekend for Memorial Day in The Berkshires, there’s not only the Berkshire Film Festival but also the return of Solid Sound up in North Adams at the MASS MOCA. We have tickets for Saturday to see Japanese Breakfast and Wilco and we can’t wait.

Here are a few snapshots from the scene in spring in the Berkshires that we wanted to share. Also! We planted a new garden around the backyard gravel zone - so our summer renters can look forward to watching the blooms pop up all throughout the season!
